MINTAILS CONTROLS THE LARGEST TAILINGS TREATMENT FACILITY IN THE WORLD. PRELIMINARY ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT THEORETICAL PRODUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 144,000 OUNCES AU AND 2.4 MILLION POUNDS OF URANIUM (U3O8) PER ANNUM COULD BE POSSIBLE ONCE THE EXPANDED PLANT IS FULLY OPERATIONAL.

AGGREGATE SALES

Mintails has agreements in place with Holcim (South Africa) (Pty) Limited (Holcim) to supply waste rock or competent rock to their materials business.

Competent rock is rock that has been screened, crushed and the recoverable gold component removed. The rock is then stockpiled for sale by Holcim as aggregate, a vital component of the construction process. Similarly once the heap leaching process has been completed the -10mm fraction is sold to Holcim as crusher run for use in the ready-mix or road making industries.
